Project Manager

The Project Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager, and is responsible for the overall direction, successful completion, and financial outcome of multiple projects. You will be the main contact with our clients and build business relations to increase overall project success. This is an opportunity to shape the company’s future, and further develop our reputation as the premier commercial millwork shop in Western Canada.

As a Project Manager at Executive Millwork you will:

  • Create shop drawings with design for lean manufacturing from architectural plans for production
  • Manage multiple projects from kickoff to final completion
  • Monitor and control progress, costs and budgets throughout the project
  • Build relationships with clients during site visits and design meetings
  • Further Executive Millworks continuous improvement initiative
  • Learn and execute the target value design culture of the team

Qualifications

To be successful at Executive Millwork, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Project management experience with budgets of $1 MM+
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial millwork or construction industry
  • Experience in drafting and designing custom commercial millwork in AutoCAD
  • Self-starter that is organized and wants to positively impact the company and clients
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize work
  • Actively engage at any opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and diverse group of trades on projects
  • University or college diploma in a relevant construction/engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Unwavering commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Millwork Installer

As a Millwork Installer at Executive Millwork you will:

  • Applicants should be energetic, self motivated, a self-starter able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Must have an eye for detail and high attention to quality.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, powered machines and equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve, in conjunction with the project manager.
  • Must have own tools, cell phone and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able and willing to maintain a safe work environment and follow all health and safety requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate, verbally and written, in English.
  • Must maintain outstanding attendance
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and work independently

We welcome all applicants. Preference will be given to those with previous commercial millwork experience, or a journeyman cabinetmaking ticket.

Cabinetmaker

The Cabinetmaker will, broadly speaking, be responsible for the manufacturing of finished product of high quality and maintain a level of personal productivity and safety.

As a Cabinetmaker at Executive Millwork you will:

  • Utilize knowledge of materials and processes to manufacture and install the product required
  • Optimize the manufacturing process
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Must have an eye for detail and high attention to quality.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, powered machines and equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve, in conjunction with the project manager.
  • Must be able and willing to maintain a safe work environment and follow all health and safety requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate, verbally and written, in English.
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines

Estimator

As an Estimator at Executive Millwork you will:

  • Advise on tendering procedures
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Project cash flow and financing requirements
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Estimate pre-contract costs
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates

Qualifications:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
  • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Take-off packages; Spreadsheet; Scheduling packages; MS Excel; MS Word; Estimating packages; Database
  • Type of Experience: Institutional construction; Architecture; Commercial and/or industrial construction
  • Project Size Estimating Experience: $1,500,001 – $4,000,000; $500,001 – $1,500,000

Credentials: Cabinetmaker Trade Certification, Gold Seal Membership in the Canadian Construction Association, CADD

Experience: 3 to 5 years
